Appointment Fee – £60
Block Booking: £330 – 6 sessions
Before committing to block bookings it is necessary for me to have an initial appointment to ensure that I am a suitable therapist for you. This is charged at the appointment fee rate noted above.
Following this, 6 sessions at a time are able to be paid in advance.
**Payments are to be made by bank transfer on the day of your appointment before it begins unless otherwise agreed.**
Late Cancellation / Missed Appointments
If you miss or cancel a session with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be required to pay the full fee. If you have paid for a block of sessions, this session will be deducted from that.
Some of the questions my patients have asked before and during therapy
In the movies and on TV you may see people attending therapy and lying down on a couch. This is absolutely not required for the type of work we will be doing. However, I encourage you to be comfortable. Ensure you are somewhere you feel safe and are not likely to be disturbed.
Our therapy sessions are conducted on a one to one basis and are private. Allowing family, partners or friends to be present during appointments can impact the therapeutic process.
If you are nervous about your first appointment, we can conduct it together knowing there is a trusted person elsewhere in the building you can go to if you need them.
The only exceptions to this would be if the person coming for therapy was a child – in this case a parent or guardian may be present for part of the first session and once the child is comfortable would be invited to leave the room.
You will only be in a therapy session for 50 minutes – 1 hour each week. That leaves many many more hours in your day to day life in which you are dealing with the problem you are seeking help for. So, yes, you will be given homework to do which will vary from week to week. The homework will be things which you can apply to your daily life and I am able to help you get it just right in our sessions.
As much as you may be a confident and competent driver, I will not conduct a therapy session with you while you are in charge of a vehicle. This would result in you not being able to give your full concentration to the road or to your therapy. You are able to sit in your parked car and have a therapy session if you need to for privacy.
If you have other people in the room with you doing treatments on you, or tasks around you, we will not be able to conduct your therapy session. Our appointments are private and require your concentration and engagement as well as mine. This cannot be guaranteed if someone else is in the room.
Often people will feel overwhelmed and worried they are too anxious to have their therapy appointment, for fear they may have a panic attack. If this is happening, I will work with you to help to sooth and calm you so that you are able to engage to some level in your appointment. This is a great way for you to learn a tool which you can use should you experience similar in the real world.
Our relationship is a unique one. As your therapist I hold a space in your life for a limited time only. I will speak with you about things you may not have told others and will support you in a way that close friends and family will not be able to. Because of this, our relationship must stay strictly as therapist and client with your wellbeing at the centre of it.
Therapy can be successful and unsuccessful for a variety of reasons. Ultimately, I cannot guarantee that therapy with me will work. But, I do know that if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got. So isn’t it worth giving it a shot?
There is no strict limit to the number of sessions we can have together. However, we cannot have therapy forever. So, we will work together to reach goals that you set and when it comes time you can consider if you have made progress with your goals and learned ways to better manage your mental health.
